Treasurer Frerichs has directed his staff to expand enrollment, with a focus on ensuring that more diverse families take advantage of 529 savings programs.
Additionally, Treasurer Frerichs is working to build awareness of the programs and make them accessible to more people by working with a wide array of community partners, institutions, and officials throughout Illinois.
Treasurer Frerichs has taken steps to re-instate Financial Literacy as a program within the Treasurer’s Office. He is committed to expanding the program in partnership with community and civic organizations, non-profits, local governments, and local chambers of commerce throughout the state.
